If you want the rainbow, ya gotta put up with the rain
Oh boy what a trip this weekend was! Lets start with us deciding to leave early so we'd be able to shower and relax before game time. For those who dont know it's a 5-6 hour drive to Sydney from Halifax. Everything was going good, we had good music, hyperness due to lack of sleep and of course some home baked banana bread to munch on. We got to the Canso Causeway which links Cape Breton to the mainland. On the causeway I was doing my usual ' FEATHERS ON THE CAUSEWAY GIRLS!' (screaming eagle feathers...get it?! haha) all the sudden I felt the van dying. I pressed on the gas pedal but it stalled, so i pulled over. I turned it off and then started 'er up again. Got the van at far as the Canadian tire in Port Hawksbury (middle of nowhere, Cape Breton). Mom went and talked to the mechanic but they said they were on lunch and wouldnt even look at it til sometime after 3pm and it was only noon. So Dale and Mom walked across the street to the full sevice PetroCan. They came with a tow truck, the guy knew what it was right away. The fuel pump went. It would be Monday before they got the part though and we were offically stranded! It was pretty much panic and stress for the first 30min but the mechanic from Petro is an angel. I'm serious, the world needs more people like this guy. We didnt have a credit card and he let us use his to rent a van to finish our drive up to Sydney, did I mention when he towed moms van he brought a friend with a mini van to drive us over to the station so we wouldnt have to walk in the cold. He spent at least an hour and a half trying to find a fuel pump in or around Port Hawksbury. After almost 2 hours we grabbed some lunch and finally hit the road for the final 2 hour strech to Sydney. We got to the hotel, basicly checked in and dropped our stuff. Each of us had a 5min shower, did hair and makeup in record time. Grab our traditonal subway before the game and hit up Center 200. The boys helped the day end well with a 4-3 over the Eagles. Bryce Swan a local caper kicked the CB fans in the teeth with 2 goals, 1st star and a group of 50+ moosters cheering him on as loud as possible. It was totally worth it! Saturday, we did some shopping, hair salon visit and went the game. The second didnt fair so well for the Moose though. 7-3 was the final score and as bad as it looks is wasnt a bad game at all. I know everyone says 'oh it was the bad bounces' but seriously it was. Rose coloured glasses aside I swear. One of the goals in the first period actually bounced off our goalies glove, off the glass behind the net and in front right to a Eagles stick. It was like that all night, completely frustrating! Nicole and I also partied it up a bit Saturday night after the game. We went to one of the two clubs in Sydney and have a few...well more then a few but thats not the point. There was some good clubbin music and a live band inbetween, doing some great cover songs. The Eagle players showed...I won't go into the details of that funniness, somethings should just stay in CB. Sunday was a good relaxing day, woke up insanely late like almost 1pm. Grabbed lunch, hit the gym, the pool and played some pool. Basicly it was a really relaxing, fun day. Monday meant for an early day, we had to pack and drive back to Port Hawksbury to get Moms van and return the rental. Made it home for 5:30pm ish. So that was our most recent roady...it was an adventure thats for sure!

Long time, no post
Oh my god it's been almost a month! I'm sooooo sorry everyone. I meant to go maybe a week or 2 without posting just to make a point that i hardly get comments anymore but a month, thats crazy lol. Anyways hmmm whats up with me in the last month. My predisone is coming down. I'm down to 20mg! YAY me! I'm working a lot but thats nothing new. Hockey season is in full swing so I only have a maybe 1 or 2 days a week where I'm working just one job rather then the both. I like staying busy though so it's not too bad at all. I have this a really funny and adorable guy at work asking me out everyday...haha its a good boost for the confidence but really he's not my type. I dont mean that to sound stuckup but really he's a very small framed, short guy, even if he is cute it'd just be...nevermind I'm not even gonna try and explain it. My co-workers make fun everyday. The kid is persistant, in the last 2 weeks since he started there he's asked me out at least a dozen times. One of these days I'm gonna say yes and the look on his face I'm sure will be priceless.
I'm hitting the road again this weekend, 3 days and 2 hockey games in Sydney,CB. Should be a good trip, I'm well known in that rink by the hardcore fans and we always have a good time poking fun at one another. Elizabeth, Mom, Nicole and Katie are all making the trip with me. Yea thats right we love our boys LOL! Anyways I've got some work to do but I'll be posting at the very least on Sunday or Monday when i get back from Cape Breton.
