Quick update!

Alright well my asthma believe it or not is worse right now, but meh I'll survive I always do. Other then that I'm averaging like 6 or 7 hockey games a week so I'm like never home but it's good fun. In the middle of all this I'm the acting shink for half my friends, but I love them so I keep throwing my advice out there and listening. I do have one friend, I feel so bad for this guy, he's going through a bad breakup and I just don't know what to say, I just kinda listen...hopefully it's at least somewhat helpful. Anyways I'm in a huge hurry this morning so I can't write a whole lot...I'll update more later!
Love ya all XOXO

Damn chronic illness

Just to start I want to point out that I'll be fine. I just want everyone to know whats happening. We all know too well about how much a role asthma has in my life. Chronic disease is like that, you just learn to live with it. I do pretty well if I do say so myself. I dont let it control my entire life even if it does restrict me from things. Anyways the last few weeks have not been good ones for me health wise. Two colds in a months time is never good. My PFTs ( Pulmunary Function Tests) have been consistantly low no matter the increase in meds. As of this morning I'm on 50mg of predisone, 2 inhaled steriods (symbicort and qvar), allgery reliver, singular, biaxan, nexium, uniphyl, a bone drug that I can never pronnounce, my ventolin by mask and inhaler, along with b12 and iron supplements. Yea yea sucks to be me lol. Its very frustrating to say the least. Mostly with the predisone increase. Predisone is an oral steroid and its pretty much multi-purpose drug used for everything from cancer to asthma but long term, the side effects are pretty bad. We have been able to prevent anything serious like bones and sight problems but the weight gain is very hard on me. I feel as though everytime I lose a certain amount it comes back 2 fold because my asthma will act up and the predisone must be raised. There have been issues with mold in our bathroom and kitchen and the owners of the building here SUCK. They've actually waited months before doing anything. I feel so bad for Lee and Jen, they are just as, if not more frustrated then I am with that situation. The good thing is I have a great respiroloist and between him and my nurse (who I adore) we'll work it out. I must be heading to the hospital right now...stupid more meds to put me on. I will keep you all updated. Please, please, please dont worry too much. I didnt write this so everyone can go crazy with worry, I just could use some family support when I'm sick.
Love you all XOXO

What it's Oct already....who knew...

During the hockey season I'm always busy, which is a good thing I love it but jeez does the time pass fast. Put it this way since last week I've spent at least a whole morning worth of time in the hospital doing tests (cuz my lungs suck right now) been to 6 hockey games, worked 10-6 mon-fri at callus. Had a girls night out with Heidi and Amanda and spent saturday drinking it up with about 15 people celebrating Joshs 19th birthday! I actually had one of my friends in Edmonton ask me if somethings wrong because I havent been online like AT ALL this week. The best part about my weekend was celebrating Sasa's b-day, OMG can you all believe he's 19 now?! It makes me feel old, haha imagine how Mom and Dad feel. Anyways I must be scooting off to work now.
XOXO,

Poetry meets at the rink!

Found a cute lil peom. It was written about the Canucks but with a few word changes I thought it pretty much was perfect! LOL

How to be a True hockey fan

How to be a True hockey fan is what you'll be taught
First things first, its not about the merchandise you bought

Being a True fan is a lot more than that
It doesn't matter if you have every single vintage hat

You've got to have pride, all the willingness inside
Never let a loss bring you down or let you subside

To be a true fan you've got to stand tall
No matter what happens we should never stall

Don't forget to love the game and the sport too
The players and fans are like paper and glue

Without each other there wouldn't be a game
The Halifax Mooseheads will always be a proud name

If you aren't a true fan yet then you must be a fool
You dont need any supplies or any tools

Because all you need is a good heart
To be a true fan is to stay from the start

Holy Wicked Week Batman!!!

Ok so as I promised here is my update from the weekend. Friday night was game night here in Hali. The Herds homecoming after a four game roadtrip, a roady that was absolutely brutal. The boys went 0-4 so they were pretty hungry going into the game. We were down by 2 by halfway through the guys then started skating better and suddenly netting their chances. The final score was 5-2 for the Moose! Which by the way was shown on Eastlink Television. Somehow I always end up on the broadcast and this time it was me smacking my jaw around chewing on some gum while they did a Q update right before intermission. YAY for me looking like a frickin' camel on cable tv LOL. Saturday night a bunch of old friends all got together. I got WAY TOO TRASHED and basicly had Jeremiah and Shawn carry me home, but good times none the less. Want pics of us being stupid and drunk? Ask Shelly, she's got a few from that nite. Sunday afternoon Michelle and I dragged our hungover selves to the Moose game with Elizabeth and the baby. Speaking of the game, HOLY AWESOME BATMAN!!! Well awesome if your a Moosehead. 11-2 the final score over the Fogdevils. It's fun once in a while to get to stand the whole game cheering and going nuts. It even had a couple of good fights. Tim Spencer(ella) and our Kirk(lulese) Forrest had a good tilt with Kirk getting the upper hand. On to Monday, I fasted (well other then with my meds) and then at 4pm Heidi and myself hit up the studio at z103 to meet Chingy! It was awesome, got a huge poster autographed and a pic with him. For the record ladies reading this, Chingy may be the best smelling man alive! Tuesday I hit the rink again but this time for a Jr. A game. I went to go see my boy JF play. I miss him so much! Thank god he at least stayed in Hali, I wouldnt know what to do with myself if he had gone back to Quebec. Ran into Katie there and later got a quick 'hi' to Logan and Justin who came to pick her up. Wednsday night the NHL season started. I multi-tasked that night. The Moose game was on the radio as they were in PEI playing the Rocket. Our boys took that game in a shootout, 4-3 the final. The Ottawa/Toronto game wasnt too bad. Ottawa won so that always good. I would like to talk about the Avs game but to be honest thinking about it makes me want to throw my laptop across the room. 3 words for my boys in Denver... 60 F****** MINUTES BOYS!!!! OK OK 3 words and a letter. So there was my excitment everyone. It was good fun and now I cant wait for another weekend. Maybe I'll relax or something...
